I negotiated with my parents to earn extra allowance by doing more chores, I tutored other kids, I did car washes in our driveway where I dragged a sign out to our main street to attract customers. Now, putting aside that I may or may not have raided my parent’s pantry to set up a car wash snack shack, netting me 100% profit, I learned a valuable lesson: The harder you work, the more profit you can make.But as I’ve gotten older, making money and the material drive I once felt has somewhat lost its luster. I find myself drawn to passion projects that don’t have an obvious profit potential. I gotta admit though, I still feel that itch in the back of my brain when I create something from pure passion - like what’s the angle to make a profit from this? Maybe this is the blessing and curse of every creator?
